Mark Thomson
“AI: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”
Come and hear about the latest in Artificial Intelligence and how it can help or hinder our lives.
After studying fine art at the South Australian School of Art in the early 1970s, Mark Thomson pursued a design, writing and art career design across many disciplines.
Mark is the author and photographer of numerous books including Blokes & Sheds, Makers, Breakers & Fixers, Rare Trades and The Lost Tools of Henry Hoke. The last of these books became an ABC television series.
He has designed or curated exhibitions and installations for the National Museum of Australia, Intel, Questacon, The Speculative Histories Laboratory, the SA Maritime Museum and the National Motor Museum. These works emphasise interactive experiences for visitors and participants.
Mark has recently completed a 2 year Cybernetic Imagination Residency at the School of Cybernetics, Australian National University, Canberra.
Tea and coffee etc. is available at supper time.

The Inventors Association of SA meetings are run under the instruction and health guidelines issued by the Government of South Australia. (from July 2020)

All members and visitors are welcome to meet anytime from 5:30pm for a relaxing meal at:

We have a permanent booking – just ask for the Inventors’ table on arrival.
This is a good time to wind-down from a busy day and just chat (and eat great meals or just a coffee!) before the main meeting.
It is only a short walk to our meeting place (see above).
